In the realm of Salesforce solutions tailored for nonprofits, the release of Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud (NPC) has introduced a plethora of new solutions and processes designed to revolutionize how nonprofits use Salesforce. In this blog post, we’ll dive deeper into one of the most powerful solutions provided with NPC, OmniStudio.
What is OmniStudio?
Omnistudio offers a suite of tools that come with NPC, aimed to empower organizations to create and manage personalized user interfaces, forms, and documents through Flex Cards and OmniScripts. Its intuitive design and flexibility make it an essential tool for nonprofits looking to streamline their processes and engage with their constituents more effectively.
Flex Cards: Dynamic Insights at Your Fingertips
With Flex Cards users can create interactive and visually appealing interfaces, where they can view, edit or create constituent data. These customizable cards highlight specific information, enabling nonprofits to actively engage with their constituents, make informed decisions, and build meaningful relationships.

OmniScripts: Empower User-Friendly Data Collection
OmniScripts simplify data collection by allowing nonprofits to create custom forms tailored to their specific needs. With the support of extract, transform, and load DataRaptors, these forms can efficiently preload or collect data from both internal and external users through Experience Cloud. The data collected can then be used to update fields and create a single or multiple records. Check out the example below that highlights the Benefit Schedule Form that automatically creates a Benefit Schedule record in NPC.

OmniScripts: Craft Personalized Documents
Using out-of-the-box OmniScripts, nonprofits can generate single or multiple document templates populated with Salesforce data effortlessly. From agreement contracts to program reports, you can use Salesforce’s intuitive merge field language to map specific Salesforce data to your templates. The document generation action can then be placed on your Salesforce object, allowing users to generate documents with the click of a button.

FAQ
What is the main difference between Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud (NPC) and NPSP for Constituent Management?
The biggest difference is the data model. NPSP uses Household Accounts as the default, while Nonprofit Cloud prioritizes Person Accounts. Person Accounts combine Accounts and Contacts into one record, reducing duplicate households and simplifying constituent management. NPC also introduces the Actionable Relationship Center for visualizing constituent networks, which is more advanced than NPSP’s Relationship Viewer.
Does Nonprofit Cloud still support Household Accounts?
Yes. Household Accounts still exist in NPC, but they are no longer the default. With Person Accounts used to track most constituents, Household Accounts can finally serve their intended purpose—grouping multiple individuals under a single household, instead of generating placeholder records for one-person households.
What happens to Address Management in Nonprofit Cloud?
Nonprofit Cloud does not currently support seasonal or multiple addresses the way NPSP does. NPC uses standard Mailing and Billing Address fields on Person Accounts, and NCOA Verification isn’t built-in. Organizations that rely heavily on updated mailing information for fundraising or stewardship may need an external app or custom solution until Salesforce expands NPC’s address capabilities.
Are relationships handled differently in Nonprofit Cloud vs NPSP?
Yes. NPSP stores relationships using separate “Relationships” and “Affiliations.” In NPC, Salesforce introduced the Party Relationship Group (PRG) model, which links people, households, and organizations in a centralized network. These connections are visualized in the Actionable Relationship Center (ARC), making it easier to manage and change complex relationships.
Should nonprofits move from NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud?
It depends on their data needs, budget, and roadmap. Nonprofit Cloud offers modern architecture, Person Accounts, and advanced relationship visualizations—ideal for organizations scaling data complexity. However, nonprofits who rely heavily on seasonal addresses or have highly customized NPSP instances may prefer to wait until NPC extends more legacy features. Working with a Salesforce Nonprofit Consultant is the best way to evaluate readiness and cost.
