Dreamforce 2026: What to Know and What to Get Excited About

Every year, a large contingent of Salesforce customers makes the trip to San Francisco for Dreamforce. It’s happening again this year, and we’re excited for all that’s going to be announced in a few short weeks. If you’re a nonprofit organization and you’re planning on attending Dreamforce 2026, here’s what you need to know to make your experience amazing.

When You Can Register for Sessions

Dreamforce 2026 runs September 15-17 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, and the session catalog is already live and browsable. You can search it now by role, industry, or product and “favorite” any session that catches your eye, including nonprofit-specific content.

What you can’t do yet is lock in a seat. The full three-day schedule and Agenda Builder, the tool that lets registered attendees reserve spots in certain sessions, don’t launch until August 2026. Once it’s live, favorited sessions carry over automatically, so browsing and shortlisting now saves real time later. Reserved seating applies to certain session types, so popular nonprofit sessions (workshops and hands-on training in particular) are worth reserving as soon as booking opens rather than waiting.

This Year’s Theme

Salesforce is framing Dreamforce 2026 around becoming an “Agentic Enterprise,” its shorthand for organizations that pair human teams with AI agents (built on Agentforce) to get more done. For the nonprofit sector specifically, that theme has a name: Agentforce Nonprofit, the newest layer on top of Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud.

If your organization is still running on NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack), you’ll likely hear a lot about the shift toward Nonprofit Cloud this year. To be clear, NPSP remains fully supported, and Salesforce isn’t forcing anyone off it. But the bulk of new investment (AI, automation, unified constituent data, and reporting) is happening on the Nonprofit Cloud and Agentforce Nonprofit side. Expect this year’s sessions to spend a lot of time on what that transition looks like, why organizations are considering it, and how to plan for it without disrupting fundraising or program work.

What to Be Excited About

Based on the direction of the last couple of years, here’s what nonprofit attendees can expect to see more of, and what’s worth planning your schedule around:

AI tools built for mission work, not just sales. Expect sessions on using Agentforce Nonprofit to personalize donor communications, forecast giving trends, and support program staff with case coordination, the kind of AI access that used to feel reserved for enterprise sales teams.

Practical guidance on the NPSP-to-Nonprofit Cloud question. Last year’s sessions leaned heavily into “what does this mean for my org” content rather than pure product pitches, covering migration roadmaps, data model differences, and how to know if a move actually makes sense for your size and complexity.

Unified data across programs, donors, and volunteers. A recurring theme has been getting constituent, program, and giving data into one place so nonprofits can actually see their impact instead of assembling it from six systems after the fact.

Hands-on workshops, not just keynotes. Past years have included dedicated introductory workshops on Nonprofit Cloud and Nonprofit Cloud tools, which are worth prioritizing if your team is earlier in its Salesforce journey.

Nonprofit-specific networking. Look for meetups aimed at specific corners of the sector, things like grantmaker and funder networking sessions, where the conversations happening in the hallway can be as valuable as the sessions themselves.

Travel Tips

Dreamforce travel, especially getting a nearby hotel, is always a challenge. Here are a few tricks that you can use to get as close to the action as possible. When you register for your Dreamforce pass, you will be prompted to select a hotel. Look through the hotel inventory available. Given how close we are to Dreamforce, the best hotels will most likely be gone, but there is always a chance you can grab a room, as August 21 is the hotel cancellation deadline. As we get closer to that deadline, check for available inventory, which comes online as cancellations are made.

It is essential to carefully review your hotel confirmation email for specific modification and cancellation deadlines to avoid potential issues. Typically, your reservation is managed through the Dreamforce registration portal until a designated transfer window, after which data is sent directly to the hotel. Once this transfer is complete, any further adjustments or cancellations must be coordinated directly with the hotel staff. Additionally, remain mindful of strict policies regarding deposit charges; failing to cancel by the deadline or departing earlier than scheduled may result in unexpected fees, such as a penalty of one night’s room and tax.

A Few Things to Do Now

Browse the session catalogue and favorite anything nonprofit-relevant, even though you can’t reserve a seat yet.

If your organization is weighing NPSP versus Nonprofit Cloud, use the time before September to get your internal stakeholders roughly aligned on priorities, so you can ask sharper questions in sessions rather than starting from scratch.

Watch for nonprofit-specific meetups and networking events to get added to the schedule as the event gets closer, these tend to be announced later than the main session catalogue.

Dreamforce can be a lot to absorb even for people who’ve been in the Salesforce ecosystem for years. For the nonprofit community specifically, this year looks like it will be less about flashy new features and more about a real decision point: how to bring AI and unified data into mission-driven work without losing the human judgment that makes that work meaningful. We’ll update this post as Salesforce releases the full nonprofit track and confirms session times in August.
